Beloved HGTV star Hilary Farr shut down “devastating” health rumors after an AI-generated post sparked panic — by popping up in a playful Instagram video with a cheerful “Ta daaa!”
The 74-year-old “Love It or List It” inside designer reassured followers she’s “alive and well” after bogus AI photos of her in an oxygen masks went viral, paired with an explosive caption claiming the doctor treating her “cancer” announced she may not “make it” or seem on TV again.
“Ta daaa. I’m alive, very, very, very much so alive and well, I’m happy to say,” the Canadian-British TV character quipped in a cheeky Wednesday video, showing in entrance of the phony news report.
The 74-year-old inside designer reassured followers she’s “alive and well” after AI photos of her went viral.
“So, look at this thing, really?” Farr added, roasting the photographs, calling it “crazy, AI stuff.”
“It’s so badly done. I hope none of you would really take any of this seriously and realize it is just fake beyond words,” she told her more than 318,000 followers.
The bogus photos confirmed Farr in an oxygen masks, with a caption claiming she wasn’t going to “make it.”
“Well, I’m here to prove that. So, just checking in. All’s good with me, hope all’s good with you.”
Relieved followers poured into the feedback, applauding her for calling out AI-generated scams and gushing over how fabulous and healthy she appears to be like.
