GB News was paused for a major breaking news update following a “deliberate attack” in Amsterdam. On Saturday (March 14), broadcasters Cameron Walker and Anne Diamond returned to the airwaves to share the latest headlines this morning. But their repeatedly scheduled morning show was interrupted by a worrying update from Amsterdam.
According to Dutch media, a Jewish college in Amsterdam has been broken by an explosion in a horrific assault. Femke Halsema, town’s mayor, said she believed the incident was a focused assault on the Jewish group. It will not be yet recognized if there have been any casualties in the blast.
Ms Halsema branded the tragic incident a “cowardly act of aggression against the Jewish community”, including: “Jewish people in Amsterdam are increasingly confronted with antisemitism. This is unacceptable.”
Police are now investigating new footage which seems to show a suspect setting off an explosive in relation to the sudden assault. It is known that the blast occurred at the non secular college in an upscale residential neighbourhood in the south of town.
The explosion marks the second incident concentrating on the Dutch Jewish group this week. On Thursday evening (March 12), an in a single day arson assault prompted harm to a synagogue in central Rotterdam.
The incident prompted a large increase in heightened security at synagogues and Jewish establishments in the Dutch capital. Days earlier, on Monday (March 9), a fire erupted at a synagogue in Liege, Belgium, following an explosion.
It did not take long for viewers to flock to X – previously recognized as Twitter – to share their ideas online. One person penned: “Absolutely terrifying. When will the world learn that antisemitism has no place anywhere?”
Another agreed: “A day after an explosion in Rotterdam. Halsema is awful and doesn’t protect the Jewish community, ever.” A 3rd echoed: “Wake up people. We are at war. Defend yourselves [thumbs up emoji].”
