Bessent Brings the Fire on the MN Fraud Scandal,

There was a big highlight on the fraud in Minnesota this past week. 

Not only was the fraud huge, involving reportedly over a billion in taxpayer {dollars}, but there have been also many questions about how this occurred and was allowed to continue. 

Both the House Oversight Committee and the Treasury Department have launched investigations. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said they have been also wanting into the reviews that money might have been “diverted to the terrorist organization Al-Shabaab.”

Both Bessent and Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar (MN-5) individually appeared on Sunday with Margaret Brennan on Face the Nation. 

Brennan requested Omar about the fraud, which seems to contain have been perpetrated by a quantity of Somalis. Her response was not great, as she argued that Somalis have been victims in this, too.

That was a deflection away from the query about the perpetrators and why they weren’t stopped sooner.  

But her response to the query of the reported money to terrorism was even worse.

So she’s fairly assured it isn’t true because if it have been true, that can be a failure of the FBI and the court system. 

Um, we just noticed a enormous failure in the complete fraud scandal that wasn’t stopped by the Democratic politicians in charge in Minnesota. And Biden’s FBI was busy chasing pro-life people. I’m fairly assured that there’s already been a ton of failure. That’s half of the downside. 

Brennan also spoke to Bessent, and he did not maintain back.

“A lot of money has been transferred the- from the individuals who committed this fraud, including those who donated to the government, Governor, donated to Representative Omar, and donated to AG Ellison,” he said. 

Bessent said they have been monitoring money despatched by wire switch organizations that are exterior the regulated banking system and that went abroad.

He explained that they had just began wanting at the reviews about money going to international terrorists. Bessent said that Omar had downplayed the fraud scandal and was gaslighting the American people about how it had been dealt with. 

He then summed up the fraud scandal merely:

“When you come to this nation, you gotta study which facet of the street to drive on, you gotta study to stop at the stop indicators, and you gotta study not to defraud the American people,’ he said. 

You can say that again. 

Indeed, anybody who we let in ought to know not to commit any fraud before they get right here, or we should not be let into the nation.
