Best James Bond film ever’ is now available to watch | UK News

A James Bond film starring the notorious Daniel Craig which has been described as the most “visually stunning” in the spy thriller franchise is now available to stream on a major UK platform. In what was a large success for devoted 007 followers, Skyfall has arrived on ITVX more than a decade after it hit theatres back in 2012. Staring Javier Barden, Judi Dench and Ralph Fiennes, the thriller was an immediate hit with followers and critics alike.

It was also the third of Craig’s stellar performances as the titular character, directed by Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes, who is recognized for movies like 1917 and American Beauty, and shot by Roger Deakins. The epic blockbuster follows Bond as he pursues an murderer in Istanbul to retrieve a stolen listing containing the identities of undercover brokers.

But the plan goes horribly mistaken, leaving Chief M (performed by Dench) compelled to take drastic motion. The espionage thriller was later nominated for 5 Oscars and went on to declare two of them for Best Sound Editing and Best Original Song, which was given to Adele.

Taking to social media, One consumer gushed: “Javier Bardem’s performance as Raoul Silva is my favourite James Bond villain ever. Skyfall honestly feels like a stand-alone film of outliner from the rest of the Bond series given the creative decisions made by Sam Mendes. Bardem is also a big reason – he’s a worthy adversary.”

Another chimed in with: “Skyfall will remain the most visually stunning James Bond film for a long time.” A 3rd echoed: “Whenever I watch SKYFALL I’m convinced I’m watching the best James Bond film.

“From Daniel Craig’s steely performance to the incredible supporting cast including Judi Dench, to of course Roger Deakins’ immaculate cinematography. This was the peak of the Daniel Craig era.”

Meanwhile, a fourth penned: “As the third film in Craig’s run, Skyfall isn’t just a great Bond film…. it’s a visual triumph. Roger Deakins turned espionage into art.”

But not all followers have been as impressed with the sequence, with many declaring it’s lack of logic. Taking to IMDb, one consumer wrote: “Unfortunately, I was constantly frustrated by the plot, in which neither Bond not anyone else (except the bad guy) ever does anything that makes the slightest bit of sense. The movie is just stupid, and the good in it never balanced the idiocy.”

Another added: “Ingredients for an epic film. But an extremely weak plot and an undeveloped villain made it difficult to care about the final outcome.”
