Balaji Telefilms has formally denied allegations relating to pending vendor funds associated to Bhooth Bangla after current media reviews claimed that a number of distributors related with the movie had been still awaiting dues despite the movie’s theatrical success.
According to a current Mid-day report, a few distributors alleged that funds price lakhs of rupees had been yet to be cleared. One vendor reportedly claimed that dues amounting to Rs 30 lakh had been pending, while another alleged unpaid invoices price Rs 18 lakh. The report also highlighted broader issues within the movie industry relating to delayed vendor funds and the growing problem in recovering dues after a movie’s release.
Vendors quoted in the report reportedly said that the earlier industry follow of clearing invoices within 90 days is no longer adopted persistently. Some also claimed that actors and key crew members are normally prioritized for funds, while distributors and service suppliers often have to wait for months.
Following the reviews, Balaji Telefilms issued an official assertion rejecting the allegations and clarifying its place on the matter.
“With reference to various recent media reports and social media posts regarding certain allegations about unpaid dues by Balaji Telefilms Limited for the film Bhooth Bangla, this is to clarify that the Company has fulfilled all its contractual payment obligations for the film and there are no unpaid contractual dues nor is anything further due and payable to any vendors engaged by the company for this film for any services rendered by them,” the company said.
The manufacturing home additional emphasised that it values its skilled relationships and follows established company requirements while dealing with companions and collaborators.
