Brooks Koepka has counseled LIV Golf’s management for facilitating his seamless departure from the breakaway circuit and return to the PGA Tour.

Koepka will stage his comeback at the Farmers Insurance Open on Thursday after departing LIV in December. The five-time major winner was ready to make a swift return to the PGA Tour after it established the Returning Member Program, which has paved the way in which for Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm and Cam Smith to probably observe in his footsteps. 

Koepka was reluctant to explore the political facets of his resolution when he addressed reporters at Torrey Pines on Tuesday. 

Koepka provided no criticism toward LIV as he outlined his causes for rejoining the PGA Tour. Rather, he expressed no regret about becoming a member of the insurgent league in 2022, and he lauded chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan – governor of the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund – and CEO Scott O’Neil for liberating him from his contract.

Koepka refused to disclose whether or not he confronted financial penalties to end his LIV contract, but he said: “I’m super grateful for Yasir and Scott, the way they handled things.”

“I’d like to keep that all internal [regarding financial penalties]. They were great to deal with and I’m just happy and fortunate enough to be out here now.”

Koepka emphasised repeatedly during his press convention that household concerns have been the first motivation behind his selection to go away LIV.

When questioned about what he had longed for most concerning PGA Tour participation and its America-focused calendar, he responded: “I think the ability to have my family out all the time.

“I believe that was one factor because they did not journey an excessive amount of over the last few years. But like they are going to be out this week, so I’m tremendous excited to give you the chance to have them out.”

When pressed on whether he would still have signed with LIV given another opportunity, Koepka answered: “I do not remorse something I do. I’ve realized a lot.

“I’ve always enjoyed the ride, no matter where I’m at. You also learn from anything you’re doing, so I have no regrets.

“But at the same time, I’m excited for this new chapter, grateful to be out right here. For Brian Rolapp, Jay [Monahan], Tiger, everyone that was ready to get me out right here, I’m tremendous grateful for it and I’m excited.”

Following his look in San Diego this week, Koepka travels to Arizona for the WM Phoenix Open before focusing on the Cognizant Classic and The Players.
