I can’t lie, I didn’t use to pay a complete lot of consideration to the Department of the Interior. If you knew that Deb Haaland was the secretary under Biden, you bought me beat.

But President Trump’s choose for the job, former North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum, has been making headlines on a common foundation, many highlighting his efforts to beautify the nation’s capital in preparation for America’s 250^th birthday, a Trump precedence.

Now, he’s cutting the fats at the division and nuking partnerships with a complete vary of entities that undermine American pleasure and work against our pursuits. Frankly, it infuriates me that my tax {dollars} have been going to this rubbish in the first place:

The Department of the Interior is cutting 43 partnerships with exterior teams it says no longer align with the Trump administration’s priorities, eliminating more than $4 million in deliberate funding for applications tied to DEI, environmental justice and help companies for unlawful immigrants.

Led by Secretary Doug Burgum, the division decided the agreements have been “operating in direct opposition” to its mission, according to a press release obtained completely by Fox News Digital.

A quantity of partnerships are getting the axe, but why in the world was the federal authorities in business with teams that sue the administration in the first place? Emphasis mine:

Another group on the division’s record was The Cultural Landscape Foundation, which it said has a grasp cooperative settlement with the NPS “to conduct a variety of educational and cultural support activities.” The group has opposed a number of administration initiatives, including suing over modifications at the Kennedy Center, criticizing plans for a White House ballroom and highlighting cultural landscapes and historic websites it says are threatened by administration actions through its Landslide 2026: Erasing American History initiative.

The record of woke applications is eye-opening: an environmental group that advocates a “total phase out of fossil fuels,” another that brings DEI applications to national parks, and another that offers instructions on avoiding getting picked up by ICE. What does that have to do with national parks and natural assets, you may surprise?

This is the mission the Interior Department must be focusing on (and Burgum, to his credit, is) — not attempting to unfold woke indoctrination to the American public.
