Coronation Street star Beverley Callard has been protecting her followers up to date with her cancer journey. The 69-year-old cleaning soap star was recognized with breast cancer a few months back and has been posting common updates on her social media ever since.

Posting to Instagram on Wednesday, the actress shared that she was in fairly a bit of pain. In a clip where she spoke to the digicam, Beverley captioned the post writing: “A mixed day today, some positive and some not so positive! Getting ready to go back to work next week but first… Two hospital appointments.” In the video she shared that she was due to go back to work in the next week and was “very excited” for that. But then she highlighted the negatives.

“The negative side is I have had quite a lot of pain,” Beverley said. “In my right neck. I had to go to the GP today and it is a suspected blood clot, which can happen if you have got cancer and if you have had surgery.

“Now, it won’t be, but you understand when you assume ‘oh, no, please no.'”

This meant that the actress had to return to the hospital to run more tests. “But, I’m feeling high-quality,” Beverley reassured her fans. “I’m feeling fairly optimistic.”

She explained that her consultant had been in touch to confirm the surgery “went rather well,” and that they had managed to “cut the cancer out”.

Beverley added: “They’re happy with how the surgical procedure went. And they also have two or three lymph nodes. And this is how she explained it to me. The lymph nodes are like a staircase. And if cancer is in the lymph nodes, it kind of tends to climb up the steps.

“That’s oversimplifying it, but just to help explain. And they took three, and the cancer is in the first lymph node. It’s not in the second two and three. So it is there, but it’s only small.”
