D.C. Quietly Settles With Police Sergeant Who Sued

We witnessed the Democrat freak-out when President Donald Trump announced he was federalizing the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) after yet another heinous, violent incident—this time the early August savage beating of former DOGE staffer “Big Balls” Edward Coristine as he tried to fend off a carjacking attempt from a mob of teenagers.

The corrupt mainstream media and the crime-loving progressive Democrats immediately took to every microphone and digital camera they might discover to categorical their outrage over Trump’s Big Boy transfer, claiming that crime was method down in the District. As Trump and others identified to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Co., if you imagine that, attempt taking a stroll around the capital at night time and see if you come home in one piece.

But it will get worse.

On Thursday, the Washington Free Beacon reported that the District had just settled a lawsuit that described even more fibbing about crime stats:

The District of Columbia has quietly settled a lawsuit from a sergeant who accused Metropolitan Police Department leaders of misclassifying offenses to deflate the district’s crime statistics, court information obtained by the Washington Free Beacon show. Police brass repeatedly told officers to downgrade theft circumstances, knife assaults, and violent assaults to lesser offenses, according to inside MPD emails, depositions, and cellphone call transcripts the Free Beacon reviewed.

Her accusations had been critical—and yet very plausible, contemplating what we all know to be occurring versus what they inform us is occurring. If you live in a major American metropolis, you already know precisely what I’m speaking about.

Former MPD sergeant Charlotte Djossou sued the division in 2020, alleging that police management punished her for talking out against the scheme. Djossou, who joined the pressure after serving honorably in Iraq, accused MPD brass of making an attempt to “distort crime statistics” by “downgrading a number of felonies to misdemeanors, so that there will be ‘fewer’ felonies in the statistics.” She also offered information exhibiting that police leaders explicitly instructed their subordinates to underclassify sure situations of theft to keep them out of the crime stats town experiences to the public.

The dangerous news just retains coming for the left. As our Sister Toldjah reported, despite their protestations, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and the City Council have long been conscious of the disaster.

Statistics clearly may be an extraordinarily useful device in a selection of functions. However, when they’re manipulated and corrupted to persuade you of a distorted actuality that is at odds with what you’re witnessing on a daily foundation, they turn out to be a pernicious technique used to warp the political debate.
