Former NASCAR star Danica Patrick has slammed the current mayor-elect of New York City, Zohran Mamdani, after disagreeing with some of his key insurance policies.
Mamdani gained the New York City mayoral election with 50.4 p.c of the vote, beating rival candidates Andrew Cuomo (41.6%) and Curtis Sliwa (7.1%). Mamdani is a Democratic-socialist and has announced a number of proposals to make the town more reasonably priced.
Patrick has publicly endorsed President Donald Trump since retiring from motorsports racing, and has condemned Mamdani’s profitable electoral marketing campaign. The former NASCAR star just lately took to social media to mock Mamdani, sharing a video from Dallas Mavericks proprietor Mark Cuban, who questioned his insurance policies.

Patrick shared the video on Instagram, adding the caption: “Can this work! No.” The former NASCAR star added a crying with laughter emoji, and also wrote: “Nothing is free, people. And if it’s, you are the product.”
The former NASCAR driver kept political opinions to herself during her motorsports career, but has become more vocal since retiring. After attending Turning Point USA’s AMFest last year, where she met political commentator Tucker Carlson, she has publicly endorsed the Republican Party and President Trump.
In an Instagram post in January 2024, Patrick wrote: “And just like that…. I’m into politics. I’ve steered clear of it because, as an athlete and having sponsors, it was never my place or curiosity to be sincere. But after speaking to Tucker today it turned more clear why I’m .
“People should be able to live their lives however they want to in my opinion, as long as it’s not hurting anyone else. However, that’s the problem now. Whether it’s our food, skies, schools, free speech, media, or privacy… it is affecting my world and just about everyone else’s on a daily basis.
“I need to study more about what causes the problems we face and ask how we will remedy them. The only aspect I’m taking is fact. What do you guys need to know more about?! It’s time to get interviewing!”
