Former NASCAR and IndyCar star Danica Patrick is definitely in the temper for this week’s U.S. Open, having fun with a day in the solar on the golf course.

The greatest stars from the world of golf are in motion at Oakmont in Pennsylvania this week, chasing glory in the third main championship of the season.

Patrick, 43, managed to carve out some time in her busy schedule – which has included some raunchy confessions currently – to play a spherical of her own at Scottsdale National Golf Club in Arizona on Monday, and she shared one of the highlights of her spherical with her a million Instagram followers.

The motorsports trailblazer posted a clip of her ripping a drive down the middle of the green on the 18th gap, adopted by a second video that confirmed off her unbelievable strategy to the inexperienced.

Patrick advised followers she stiffed an 8-iron to within a couple of ft, tapping in for a birdie to end her spherical in fashion.

Patrick typically shares updates on her golf adventures on social media, and she defined her love for the game a couple of months in the past. She wrote on Instagram: “I made a decision to truly be taught how to play golf about two years in the past.

“Of course, it’s a little seasonal, mostly for heat in AZ but also work and skiing! I thought I finally had it figured out last fall. Then I forgot how to hit my driver to start the year off. Until about 10 days ago. I remembered just as mysteriously as I forgot.

“Golf is a funny game, and mostly played by those who just love to be hard on themselves. A game you will never master and repeatedly wonder, ‘why am I doing this to myself?’ Can’t wait for the next round. Who’s with me?”

Patrick has not shared her official handicap with her fans, but she posted a picture of a scorecard earlier this year, revealing she had carded a 44 during a nine-hole outing, meaning she is certainly capable of getting the ball around a course and enjoying herself.

“The scorecard is a 100 per cent legit nine holes, all the way to very short putts. No gimmes or mulligans,” she wrote.

Patrick has been working on her golf swing with coach Brian Daley, who revealed final month that she had damaged her distance document off the tee. Daley advised his followers: “250-yard drive, new document. Insane progress the final two weeks. An entire new understanding of her golf swing.”

The U.S. Open tees off at Oakmont on Thursday, with LIV Golf star Bryson DeChambeau defending his title, and he’s sure to face stiff competitors close to Pittsburgh, notably from world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who is chasing a fourth match win in 5 begins.
