Danielle Scott-Haughton useless: Death in Paradise legend | UK News


BBC Commissioning Editor Danielle Scott-Haughton has died at the age of 37, as tributes flood in online. The heartbreaking news was initially reported by The British Blacklist and then shared by the official Death in Paradise Instagram account. The prolonged post started: “We are heartbroken to share the passing of Danielle Scott-Haughton, a brilliant BBC Commissioning Editor, producer, and a cherished friend of The British Blacklist and the wider Black British creative community.

“Danielle really confirmed up. In motion, care, and perception. She was a steadfast supporter of Black creatives, Black tales, and Black-led platforms, always believing our tales deserved space, scale, and respect.”

Shortly after the news hit the headlines, famous faces and supportive fans flocked to social media to share their sympathies online. Radio presenter Clara Amfo penned: “We love her past measure,” as Celebs Go Dating expert Paul C Brunson added: “May Dani relaxation in paradise [dove emoji].”

Lorraine broadcaster Ria Hebden added: “The saddest news. Thinking of all her household and family members [heartbroken emoji, white dove emoji],” while Eddie Kadi simply shared four heartbroken emojis. The presenter was raised by her Jamaican grandparents, something she cherished throughout her life.

Early on in her career, she worked as a creator, producer, writer, and director on projects such as Dear Jesus and The Alexis Show. Before she joined the BBC, Danielle worked for seven years at Balloon Entertainment, where she served as a Development Executive and and Executive Producer on Champion, the groundbreaking musical by Candice Carty-Williams for BBC One and Netflix.
