Earlier, RedState reported on the announcement from Tesla CEO and Twitter/X proprietor Elon Musk in which he talked about how his time with DOGE and the Trump-Vance administration “as a special government employee” was drawing to a close at the top of the month.

“As my scheduled time as a Special Government Employee comes to an end, I would like to thank President @realDonaldTrump for the opportunity to reduce wasteful spending,” Musk posted Wednesday on his social media platform. “The @DOGE mission will only strengthen over time as it becomes a way of life throughout the government.”

Though Musk had beforehand confirmed in late April that he can be stepping back “significantly” from his DOGE tasks soon to focus on different initiatives, he did not rule out spending “a day or two per week on government matters for as long as the President would like me to do so.” Trump officers have asserted that Musk will still serve in an advisory capability to the POTUS for the foreseeable future.

With Musk’s DOGE function winding down, the Musk Derangement Syndrome victims on the left and in the mainstream media are predictably spinning it as a “victory” after many of his unhinged critics repeatedly demanded over the final couple of months that Trump affirm Musk can be stepping down efficient May thirtieth as that is the final day of the 130 days he may serve as a designated “special government employee” (within a period of 365 consecutive days).

Here’s Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA), for occasion, yada yadaing while presumably being chauffeured about how Musk had been “kicked to the curb”:

“Kicked to the curb” is what Virginia voters ought to have already performed to Mark Warner.

But as far as Elon Musk goes, getting “kicked to the curb” isn’t what occurred. Like at all:

Greg Casar (D-TX) has even gone so far as to threaten to use lawfare-style ways against Musk in the occasion Democrats retake the bulk in 2026, insinuating that though Musk technically is ending his time with DOGE that he is “not really gone” and will still, in Casar’s view, trigger bother for the woke left and abuse his close skilled relationship with Trump.

As I’ve mentioned before, Musk can and will serve in an casual advisory function with Trump for as long as they both need him to, and there’s not a lot, if something, Democrats can do about it past ranting about it on MSNBC. It sure can be popcorn-worthy to see the Trump administration’s response if Musk’s detractors tried, though.
