Congressman Greg Murphy tried to criticize the Democrats and Iran amid the continued conflict, but made an awkward slip up.
The 63-year-old appeared on Fox News on Sunday, June 7, as he blamed the Democrats for the battle persevering with. President Donald Trump said on Sunday he’s “very close” to reaching a peace deal with Iran, but is attempting to make sure the nation can not get a nuclear weapon.
Despite Trump’s talks of a peace deal being imminent, Israel carried out air strikes in Iran after Iran fired missiles at northern Israel over the weekend.
Appearing on Fox, Murphy started, “The Democrats are supporting Iran because literally they hate Trump more than they love the country. I mean, it comes down to that with Hakeem at sometimes.”
However, he then made a reasonably awkward slip up and said, “Now, this is not easy. Peace is not easy when you have a belligerent country and a belligerent leadership like the Israel, I mean the Islamic republic of Iran.”

The congressman managed to get well and continued, “The fact that he wants to sell out the country because they hate Trump so much, they want Trump to lose so badly that they don’t care about their children or their grandchildren or the future of the free world for that matter, I think is very sad.
“I believe it is tragic, it is a mar across out nation. But, , that’s one of the challenges of democracy, where now we have different sides that come and really feel otherwise about sure actions, about sure political views.”
He concluded, “But to go and principally goad on and cheer for Iran and this sort of issues is unfortunately not patriotic. it is tragic. And, , to make them say that they’re stronger, good lord, where has that come from Hakeem?”

While Murphy managed to recover from his awkward mix up, viewers didn’t let him off lightly. After a clip of the Fox News broadcast was shared on X, one person said, “Quite the slip from the Congressman.”
“He was proper the first time…” another viewer wrote, adding, “The Freudian Slip is autocorrect for the mind.”
A third X user suggested, “Murphy bought it proper the first time. Slip of the tongue revealed absolutely the reality. Israel is a belligerent evil nation.”
Someone else agreed as they commented, “Israel “is” belligerent…Murphy had it proper the FIRST time!” Another Fox News fan echoed, “No, you had been proper the first time. You unleashed Israel, now put a leash on it so people can get back to their life.”
“Greg Murphy is clearly a moron, but I’ll give him credit: He was proper the first time,” one viewer blasted.
Another critic suggested Murphy had “said the quiet half loud.”
