Donald Trump has hailed plans for a drone port on the White House roof as mandatory to transfer Washington D.C. protection capabilities into the trendy day.

Alongside a computer-generated image of drones parked on purple, white, and blue-lit White House touchdown pad, Trump said the drone port shall be “the most sophisticated anywhere in the world.”

“With the advent of highly sophisticated, and powerful, modern day weaponry, we can no longer defend Washington, D.C., with rifles and pistols, alone,” the president wrote on his Truth Social platform.

Trump explained that the new building’s top permits for a “very clear view of everything all over Washington,” including that it’ll also embody a army hospital and research facility.

“The ballroom is really a shield, protecting all of the things that are built here,” he said.

Trump abruptly and controversially demolished the historic East Wing of the White House in October 2025 to make approach for the new building, which is able to host dinners and large occasions that beforehand had to happen under tents on the White House garden.

Last week, Trump described the ballroom as a “gift” he had paid for, since taxpayer {dollars} weren’t used for the project.
