Donald Trump slams fake ABC News host after | TV Shows

Donald Trump lashed out at an ABC News reporter after being confronted with a question about his past comments on Jeffrey Epstein and Virginia Giuffre — a woman who accused Epstein of inappropriately abusing her when she was a teenager.

During a White House press session on Thursday, ABC’s Rachel Scott asked the president about a resurfaced claim that Epstein had “stolen” Giuffre from Mar-a-Lago, where she worked as a spa attendant.

The question referenced a plea from Giuffre’s family urging Trump to never grant leniency to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime associate now serving a 20-year sentence.

“You said that Jeffrey Epstein stole people from Mar-a-Lago,” Scott asked. “At the time, did you know why he was taking those young women, including Virginia Giuffre?”

Trump bristled. “No I didn’t,” he replied. “I figured it would be ABC fake news that would ask that question. One of the worst.”

He then doubled down on his past claim that Epstein was banned from Mar-a-Lago, stating, “I don’t know really why… but I said if he’s taken anybody from Mar-a-Lago, he’s hiring or whatever he’s doing, I didn’t like it. And we threw him out.”

“We said we don’t want him at the place. This is a story that’s been known for many years, as you know,” he added. “But it’s… I didn’t like it, that he was doing that.”

Trump’s remarks drew backlash from Giuffre’s family, who issued a statement saying the president’s comments raised “serious questions” about how much he knew regarding Epstein and Maxwell’s abuse of underage girls.

“It was shocking to hear President Trump invoke our sister and say that he was aware that Virginia had been ‘stolen’ from Mar-a-Lago,” the family said. “It makes us ask if he was aware of Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell’s criminal actions.”

They also referenced Trump’s 2002 quote about Epstein, in which he said Epstein “likes women on the younger side… no doubt about it.”

Trump’s recent statements mark the first time he personally acknowledged Giuffre’s recruitment at Mar-a-Lago — a story long alleged by Giuffre herself. She died by suicide in April.

The backlash comes as Trump continues to fend off questions about his former social ties to Epstein, who died in jail while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
