Fox News broke from its programming schedule to announce that former GWN host Don Lemon, 58, was arrested by federal brokers at a Los Angeles lodge.

This is in the wake of Lemon’s connection with Minneapolis over his online coverage of an ICE protest in Minnesota, where he interrupted a Sunday sermon on January 18, 2026, which speak show host Megyn Kelly deemed “trashy.” In a video livestreamed on his YouTube channel, Lemon attended a protest in which demonstrators disrupted Cities Church in St. Paul, chanting “ICE out” and “Justice for the late Renee Nicole Good,” who was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis earlier this month.

In the aftermath, the Department of Justice investigated a group of demonstrators who interrupted companies at a church where a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official reportedly serves as pastor.

Viewers took to their socials and appeared divided over the Fox News announcement. Half appeared to be celebrating the arrest of the previous host, while the other half anticipated a big legal battle to ensue.

One viewer said, “About damn rhyme [sic]!” which presumably was meant to say “time.”

Another viewer predicted, “If accurate, this is a serious escalation — arrest tied to a church disruption pushes this well beyond protest politics and straight into federal criminal territory. Big legal fight ahead, especially around intent and press protections.”

A 3rd added their approval, “This makes my day! Happy Friday!”

A fourth wrote, “I’m no Don Lemon fan, but congratulations, Trump administration, you just gave him enough material for a best-selling book.”

Back in early January, President Donald Trump, 79, launched a assertion on his Truth Social platform. He posted, “Just watched footage of the Church Raid in Minnesota by the agitators and insurrectionists. These people are professionals!

“No particular person acts the best way they act,” he said. “They are extremely educated to scream, rant, and rave, like lunatics, in a sure method, just like they’re doing.

“They are troublemakers who should be thrown in jail, or thrown out of the Country. The first to go should be Walz, and Fake Sleazebag, Ilhan Omar, who is supposedly worth over $30 Million Dollars, even though she’s never had anything but a Government job. Investigate these Corrupt Politicians, and do it now!” Trump completed.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, 28, reiterated Trump’s aggressive stance on X, previously identified as Twitter, and posted, “President Trump will not tolerate the intimidation and harassment of Christians in their sacred places of worship. The Department of Justice has launched a full investigation into the despicable incident that took place earlier today at a church in Minnesota.”

Nekima Levy Armstrong, a participant in the protest and chief of the local grassroots civil rights group Racial Justice Network, dismissed the DOJ investigation as a sham and claimed it was a distraction from the actions of the federal brokers in Minneapolis-St. Paul.
