Life hasn’t always been simple for Kelvin Fletcher and his spouse, Liz. On Sunday, ITV broadcast a repeat from the first sequence of Fletcher’s Family Farm following the conclusion of the new sequence, which documented the start of Kelvin and Liz’s journey to operate their own farm in Cheshire.

In one scene, Kelvin and Liz mentioned internet hosting their inaugural event at the farm, and it is truthful to say the duo have been considerably disorganised when they initially set out on the enterprise. The couple quarrelled as Kelvin acknowledged they have been “just trying to survive.”

While trying to feed their kids and farm animals, Kelvin noticed, “Any parent will be able to relate to this; we are always that family that is always late. Once in a blue moon, we will be on time.

“I’ve not even brushed my enamel this morning, I’ve not had a bathe, I’ve not carried out something. It will get to noon, and I’ll realise, I have not eaten breakfast, I have not carried out this, I have not carried out that, but that is the character of the beast,” reports the Mirror.

He continued, “I do say to Liz, there can be a time when it is a bit more settled, and it’s going to be simpler.

“We will look back and think, ‘Do you remember those days? Do you remember when I was feeding the twins, and you were out with the kids feeding the pigs? How did we do it?’

“I do not know, it is all a blur. It can be one of them where we do not know how we did it, we just survive it. Yes, it is loopy, yes it is chaotic, but it is lovely.” After dropping the kids off at school, Kelvin and Liz found themselves at odds over the planning for their first farm event, with Kelvin admitting that the pair “do not always see eye to eye”.

While Liz assured him she was prepared, Kelvin hit back, “You’re not prepared.”

Holding up some ribbon Liz had purchased, Kelvin remarked, “This path in all probability goes over about 60 acres, and she’s going to beautify it with 5 bits of ribbon.”

Liz appeared unfazed, laughing the comment off. Elsewhere in the programme, the couple were left devastated when one of their sheep struggled to deliver her lambs.

The pair were forced to intervene and assist the sheep in delivering her second lamb, after the first one tragically died.

“It just feels useless,” Kelvin said as he pulled the lamb from its mother.

A visibly emotional Liz responded, “That was exhausting because you are feeling such as you’re going to break their legs, but you might have to get them out.

“It is just really sad to see them like that, all floppy and… it’s horrible.”

“It’s heartbreaking to see that and witness that,” Kelvin said, voicing his remorse. “Should we have got involved 15 minutes ago? Would that have made a difference? But there is a fine line between shoving your hand up every two seconds to letting nature take its course.”

He concluded, “It’s never a good sign the first one being like that, though.” Matters appeared to deteriorate for the second lamb as the sheep did not need to push, with Liz commenting, “She has given up.”
