Enes Kanter Freedom declares for 2027 WNBA Draft…
Former NBA participant Enes Kanter Freedom put pen to paper and — as promised — has formally declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft.
On Monday morning, Freedom posted a video of him signing his identify to a doc that asks the WNBA to settle for his “decision to enter the player pool for the 2027 WNBA Draft,” which can happen next April.

“Welp, it’s officially official,” Freedom said in the video. “I just declared for the 2027 WNBA Draft. Join me in this journey.”
In the video, Freedom was seen sporting a shirt that said “Invest in women. Pay women. Hire women,” which was half of “The Human Right Campaign,” originated by girls’s sports activities advocate Kelsey Trainor.
The video ended by exhibiting a full-page view of the doc that Freedom signed.
On Friday, Freedom claimed that he was planning to enter the 2027 WNBA Draft in wake of the continuing Sophie Cunningham drama. The 6-foot-10 Freedom, who is 34 years previous, loved an 11-year profession in the NBA, though he has not performed since 2022.
Shortly after Freedom announced his intentions, former NBA participant and current Republican candidate for US Senate Royce White said he would also declare for the WNBA Draft as a transgender participant.

Article XIII, Section 1(a) of the WNBA Collective Bargaining Agreement says, “Only players who are women are eligible to play in the WNBA.” The article doesn’t outline the time period “women” or specify something about organic intercourse, hormone ranges, or bodily attributes.
Since Freedom and White revealed their intentions to enter the draft, they’ve been criticized and have been going through backlash, including from former NBA participant Robin Lopez, who called the 2 out on X on Sunday.
