Erin Andrews’ loving message to her buddy Travis Kelce after the Kansas City Chiefs’ devastating Super Bowl loss spoke volumes about her character.

The Chiefs suffered a crushing 40-22 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX, shattering their hopes of a historic three-peat. Tight finish Kelce had a poor sport, failing to make any receptions within the first half for the primary time in his playoff historical past.

The 35-year-old NFL star, who has not but made a resolution relating to his retirement, was clearly dejected afterards. And FOX Sports presenter Andrews, 46, has now shared how she appeared to consolation Kelce with a hug and a few heartfelt phrases.

Talking to her colleague Charissa Thompson on their Calm Down podcast, Andrews began off by saying: “I’m disappointed both teams didn’t win.” She went on to recount her postgame interaction with Kelce before he left the stadium.

Andrews explained: “The shot they’ve of him coming from the locker room, now he was going up to the suite [where his girlfriend Taylor Swift was sitting], I did not.

“I was just getting off the field and he was just walking out and I was kind of walking like, ‘[expletive] it.’ I just turned around and I walked up to him because I don’t want to bug him, but like no. That’s our friend and this really sucks. I gave him a hug.”

She then revealed her touching nine-word message: “I stated, ‘I’m so sorry. I like you. I’m so sorry.'”

Andrews also hit back at fans who jeered his pop icon girlfriend Swift when she appeared on the Jumbotron during the game, stating: “I really feel dangerous for essentially the most well-known wonderful girl who [expletive] will get booed on the Super Bowl. Get out of right here.”

Andrews’ remarks follow the backlash against her on social media after some NFL fans felt her interview with Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts made for uncomfortable viewing. She was accused of sounding disappointed that the Chiefs didn’t win the game, as she took a more reserved approach with Hurts.

Meanwhile, Kelce briefly spoke to journalists in the locker room but sidestepped questions about his future before rushing to Swift’s suite. Reflecting on the team’s gruelling defeat, he commented:  “There’s a lot that goes into it. You do not lose like that with out every part going dangerous. We have not performed that dangerous all yr.”
