Fox News breaks news after Trump issues huge blow | TV Shows
In a surprise move, Fox News cut into its regular programming on Thursday to deliver breaking news, broadcasting President Donald Trump signing his self-proclaimed “Big Beautiful Bill” live on air.
The new law is a direct challenge to electric vehicles, California‘s eco-friendly regulations, and a notable rebuke to his former friend-turned-adversary, Elon Musk.
By signing this legislation, Trump effectively annulled California‘s electric vehicle mandate – a key policy initiative under the Biden administration designed to boost zero-emission vehicle sales.
This development is expected to significantly affect Elon Musk‘s Tesla. It comes as part of three congressional resolutions Trump signed, which target California‘s EV sales mandates and diesel engine regulations.
The decision is perceived as a substantial political and commercial setback for Musk, whose company, Tesla, has been a major beneficiary of state and federal incentives for electric vehicles.
Although Musk has yet to publicly respond to the policy reversal, Trump hinted at a potential warming of their strained relationship, expressing his desire to discuss electric vehicles with Musk.
The olive branch extends after reports surfaced that Musk privately conceded he “does regret” some things he’s said about Trump.
ABC News has reported that, just days after a heated online rant from the billionaire, which took swipes at Trump’s “ingratitude” concerning the 2024 election, ridiculed his “big, beautiful bill,” and even supported impeachment calls, Musk apparently reached out to Trump.
Musk’s assertion that the president’s name appeared in the Jeffrey Epstein files added fuel to political controversy.
In an early Wednesday morning post, the head of Tesla and SpaceX expressed regret: “I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far,” although he did not elaborate on which specific posts he meant.
This unexpected detente comes amid behind-the-scenes persuasion from key figures in Trump’s circle. Both Vice President JD Vance and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles reportedly had words with Musk late last week, pushing for a de-escalation of hostilities.
Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” aims to do more than just scrap EV mandates; it promises broad tax breaks and deregulation.
Among its features are extensions of the 2017 tax cuts, increased SALT deduction limits, elimination of taxes on tips, and the creation of Trump savings accounts for newborns.
Alongside abolishing taxes on tanning and suppressors, the legislation would increase defense budgets and streamline regulations impeding fossil fuel production.
In addition, it seeks to terminate EV and solar incentives, prefers energy choice over green edicts, and enforces work stipulations for welfare eligibility.
