Former President Joe Biden spoke at the Nebraska Democrats’ Gala, where he eviscerated President Donald Trump and his insurance policies in a fiery speech.
At one level, the 82-year-old out-screamed the sound system, which crackled as he yelled “why” while speaking about some of Trump’s habits in the past week during the shutdown.
“On Friday, Everyone dressed up like the rich folks they are from the Roaring Twenties though. On Saturday, he cut food assistance to 40 million Americans. The next day, he holds his party for the world to see and make a fool of himself. And he cuts, cuts the point system. You can’t make this stuff up, folks,” Biden said about his former opponent.
“When I left the presidency, I knew Trump was going to take a wrecking ball in the country,” the previous president continued.
The former president also took a shot at the shutdown, which Republicans blame on Democrats. “By the way, you know how many government shutdowns we had when I was president? 0! zil! none!” Biden yelled into the mic.
Biden also addressed the reconstruction at the White House initiated to construct Donald Trump’s ballroom. “When I left the presidency, I knew Trump was going to take a wrecking ball to the country,” Biden said.
“But I had no idea… And I want to see what he’s done to the West, East Wing of the People’s House, the White House. It’s a perfect symbol of his presence. Trump has taken a wrecking ball not only to the people’s house, but to the Constitution. To the rule of law. To our very democracy,” Biden added.

Biden hardly ever makes appearances as he was recognized with prostate cancer and has been receiving therapies. He also tied in his own experiences with cancer into the Trump-bashing.
“During my term, we expanded health care, increased Obamacare. To make cancer research a priority. And now Trump is cutting government funding for cancer research. Folks, Hi. I know what cancer research means. Cancer hits every family,” Biden implored.
The former president thanked many of the medical businesses throughout the state in his speech.
