GB News interrupts broadcast for Larry the Cat update | UK News
GB News cut off a phase about NASA and HS2 to ship a live broadcast from Downing Street, as Larry the Cat was noticed mendacity exterior in the sunshine. Delivering the latest update to viewers, anchor Tom Harwood explained: “We’re at Downing Street, and there is Larry the Cat – live, relaxing in the first day of sunshine that Downing Street has seen in, frankly, two weeks.”
His co-host Emily Carver puzzled: “Sorry, what’s this got to do with NASA and HS2?” as Harwood admitted: “Literally nothing. Look, it’s rare that we see such a relaxed Larry, just lying back there, up against the curb-side in Downing Street. Larry was born in 2007, which means he’s 19 years old. He became Chief Mouser to the Cabinet Office under David Cameron’s premiership, so he’s survived through David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, Liz Truss, Rishi Sunak, Keir Starmer…”
He added: “He could be in for his seventh prime minister this summer.”
Carver mused: “He’s seen it all before, hasn’t he? Look, someone’s rudely standing in front of him. Someone’s just standing there, getting in the way of our beautiful live broadcast.”
Both hosts joked they needed to inform the man to “get out of the way”, before Carver said: “He’s seen it all before, nothing can surprise him in the world of politics.
“Will Keir Starmer still be our prime minister in a few months’ time? Larry doesn’t know. Does he care?”
Harwood mused: “But Larry has been the single longest-serving appointment in the British government, I think. He’s the same age as the iPhone.”
