When The Beatles introduced their breakup, it despatched shockwaves around the globe.

Though the break up itself wasn’t crammed with high drama, within the enduring band, comprising John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr, a caustic year-long feud unfolded through snide feedback and acerbic lyrics.

Their exchanges had been marked by delicate insults, lyric barbs, and spiteful walkouts, highlighted by events such as George Harrison’s departure on January tenth, 1969. In his diary that day, Harrison wrote: “Got up, went to Twickenham, rehearsed until lunch time – left the Beatles – went home.”

At the age of 26, Harrison appeared virtually indifferent during his exit, even noting mundane particulars in his diary like his dinner plans: “… and in the evening did King of Fuh at Trident Studio – had chips later at Klaus and Christines went home.”

Harrison’s demeanor remained composed as he conveyed his determination to go away to his bandmates.

The scenario unfolded amidst the Get Back periods aimed at creating an album for a reside efficiency and movie project. Director Michael Lindsay-Hogg had secretly recorded many conversations in the studio, capturing the strife.

He did this with the hope of capturing one thing juicy and dramatic, and his efforts considerably paid off. At a tense second, Harrison was heard telling John Lennon in a calm voice, “I’m leaving the band now,” and Lennon’s response was, “When?” To which Harrison replied merely, “Now,”.

As Harrison picked up his coat and guitar, strolling out while avoiding the microphones, he is reported to have instructed his bandmates: “See you ’round the clubs.”

Reflecting on that fateful goodbye, Director Michael recalled: “We’d finished the first course when George arrived to stand at the end of the table. We looked at him as he stood silent for a moment. ‘See you ’round the clubs,’ he said.”

John Lennon, recognized for his sharp reactions, countered the departure by suggesting, “That was his goodbye. He left. John, a person who reacted aggressively to provocation, immediately said, ‘Let’s get in Eric. He’s just as good and not such a headache,'” as added by Michael.

I’m fairly succesful of being comparatively comfortable on my own, and I’m not ready to be comfortable in this scenario. I’m getting out of right here.'”
