She added that a spokesperson for Starmer said that they’re wanting for “anything that works”. The news correspondent continued: “The latest idea is looking again at digital ID cards. That was very much downplayed very recently when it was raised, but Downing Street has said that the debate has changed, and significantly, people’s expectations have changed.”
The reporter shared that ministers are now wanting at everybody in the nation having a “unique ID” card which can be utilized to show people are in the nation legally.
