Hollywood A-listers, such as actors George Clooney, 64, and Mark Ruffalo, 58, took the stage at last evening’s Golden Globes Awards ceremony and used the chance to throw shade at President Donald Trump, 79.

Although Hollywood gathered its stars for the Golden Globes Awards, the subject of current occasions lingered on the thoughts of many. Celebrities used the distinguished event and poke to the digicam as they have been upset about the late Renee Nicole good, who was fatally shot by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer, in Minneapolis.

The Trump administration obtained backlash from Hollywood after defending the ICE agent who shot and killed Good. The administration described the taking pictures as an act of self-protection and alleged the sufferer of participating in “domestic terrorism.”

President Trump also obtained backlash for supporting the ICE agent. On his Truth Social account, he wrote the officer was “viciously” run over.

“It is hard to believe he is alive, but is now recovering in the hospital,” Trump wrote.

One star in specific continued his feud with President Trump with a meta-impressed jab. Even the host had to throw in meta-commentary about the current state of occasions.

Why did the celebrities put on pins?

Ahead of the ceremony, during the Golden Globes 2026 purple carpet, the Avengers actor spoke to the press and wore a pin that said, “Be good.” The pin marketing campaign is a tribute to the late Good , which aimed to “remind us what it means to be good to one another in the face of such horror — to be a good citizen, neighbor, friend, ally and human.”

While talking about the tribute, Ruffalo explained the tribute, “This is for Renee Nicole Goode, who was murdered.”

The actor referred to Trump as he continued to USA Today, “We’re in the middle of a war with Venezuela that we illegally invaded. He’s telling the world that international law doesn’t matter to him. The only thing that matters to him is his own morality.”

“He’s the worst human being,” Ruffalo went on. “If we’re relying on this guy’s morality for the most powerful country in the world, then we’re all in a lot of trouble.”

Other celebrities, such as comic Wanda Sykes, 61, wore the same pin during the awards broadcast as half of the anti-ICE marketing campaign.

What did Nikki Glaser say during her monologue?

As the ceremony came about, particularly after there was a chaotic backstage event over a purple carpet set on fire, Golden Globes host Nikki Glaser, 41, used her monologue to crack jokes about censorship and authorities control.

Glaser mocked, “Yes, the Golden Globes: without a doubt, the most important thing that’s happening in the world right now. I cannot believe the amount of star power we have in this room tonight.”

“It’s insane,” she continued. “There are so many A-listers. And by A-listers, I do mean people who are on A-list that has been heavily redacted.”

“CBS News. America’s newest place to see BS news,” Glaser jabbed.

Although Glaser wore a Spinal Tap cap as a tribute to late Rob Reiner, viewers have been upset that the awards ceremony didn’t do more to honor the filmmaker.

The ceremony had another hiccup after actor Leonardo DiCaprio was stopped by security for sneaking out of his seat.

Why did George Clooney communicate French?

Clooney then confirmed off his French abilities during his presentation at the distinguished event.

The Jay Kelly Golden Globe nominee spoke in French as he said, “Bonsoir, mes amis.” He wished his well-known associates in the group to have a good night.

“C’est un honneur d’être ici,” he went on, which implies in English, “It’s an honor to be here.”

Co-presenter Don Cheadle also joined in on the joke and wished Ocean’s Eleven co-star Don Cheadle a good evening and said, “Bonsoir.”

Clooney spoke in French after Trump mocked the news of George’s French citizenship on Truth Social last yr.

Trump wrote: “Good News! George and Amal Clooney, two of the worst political prognosticators of all time, have officially become citizens of France which is, sadly, in the midst of a major crime problem because of their absolutely horrendous handling of immigration, much like we had under Sleepy Joe Biden.”

At the time, George responded to Trump’s dig with, “I totally agree with the current president. We have to make America great again. We’ll start in November.”
