HHS Puts WA Childrens Hospital in the Crosshairs

“I want to spotlight one particularly dangerous gender clinic and that is Seattle Children’s Hospital. Not only does it state that gender interventions are life saving and puberty blockers are reversible, but it partners with its Autism Center.  

“Youth with autistic traits are overly represented in the exploding cohort of children and young adults adopting trans identities. They tend not to conform to rigid sex stereotypes, leaving them vulnerable to believing that there’s something wrong with them.  

“Combining the autism and pediatric gender centers provides a steady stream of patients for expensive and lifelong gender treatments. Seattle Children’s is not alone in this marketing scheme. 

“Seattle’s Gender Clinic authored and the AAP published a perspective advancing the notion that refusing to modify a child’s sex traits constitutes medical and emotional abuse.  

“Parents who refuse to consent to have their daughters removed or inappropriate function destroyed are seen as abusers by the largest pediatric medical society in the United States. And if I recall correctly, Seattle Children’s had one of the most prominent booths at the AAP convention this year, where some detransitioners and I were escorted out from our paid-for booth because we dared to try to educate pediatricians.

Washington is one of the 19 states suing the Trump administration over so-called gender-affirming care. The lawsuit is funded by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), partly out of spite. HHS terminated almost $12 million in federal grants to the group.

AAP and the kids’s hospitals that still align with them are also upset over Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert Kennedy Jr.’s December 18 declaration that chemical and surgical mutilation of minors is unethical, dangerous, and would no longer be acknowledged or funded by the federal authorities.

The Department of Health and Human Services said Friday that it has referred the Seattle Children’s Hospital to its inspector basic’s workplace for an investigation into its insurance policies on transgender youth healthcare.

The referral comes after HHS announced last week it was transferring to bar hospitals from offering “sex-rejecting procedures on children” as a condition of taking part in Medicare and Medicaid, which is in line with President Donald Trump’s govt order directing HHS to end the follow. 

The division said the referral is for the hospital’s “failure to meet skilled acknowledged requirements of health care” as outlined in HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s order last week that claimed transgender treatments expose children to irreversible damage.
