Horror moment marine veterans arm snaps in | Political News
On Wednesday, a Marine veteran suffered a damaged arm after a Republican senator and police bodily hauled him out of Capitol Hill after he interrupted the proceedings to specific disapproval of the conflict in Iran
Senator Tim Sheehy of Montana said he assisted officers in bodily ejecting “an unhinged protester” from the Armed Services listening to.
The protester, Brian McGinnis, describes himself as a Marine veteran and is operating as a Green Party candidate in North Carolina’s Senate race. “Israel is the reason for this war, America does not want to fight this war for Israel,” he’s heard shouting at the start of the clip, with members of Capitol Police swiftly intervened to eject him from the room.
“America does not want to send its sons and daughters to war for Israel.” McGinnis is then seen in a wrestle with officers close to the doorway with Sheehy stepping in.
While authorities tried to pull McGinnis out of the room, his left hand grew to become caught between the door and the body. A loud crack could be heard as McGinnis’ arm seems to break.
This footage, recorded by Josephine Guilbeau, also reveals McGinnis telling the officers who arrested him that his left arm is damaged. Bystanders are heard sharing their concern at the protester’s arm injury, with activist group Code Pink also confirming the break.
McGinnis continued to yell the opening line of the Marine Corps’ national anthem, “Free Palestine, from the Halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli, Palestine will be free,” as he was finally escorted away from the scene.
The senator, a former Navy SEAL, later commented to a video of the dramatic scene on X, saying, “Capitol Police had been making an attempt to take away an unhinged protester from the Armed Services listening to. He was combating back. I made a decision to help out and de-escalate the scenario.”
“This gentleman came to the Capitol looking for a confrontation, and he got one. I hope he gets the help he needs without causing further violence.”
According to Capitol Police, McGinnis was detained and faces three counts each of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest, and unauthorized protest. He was treated for his injuries along with the officers.

In their statement, they held McGinnis accountable for his injuries, claiming that he “got his own arm stuck in a door to resist our officers and force his way back into the hearing room.”
However, Sheehy’s choice to get involved in the altercation also drew harsh criticism. In response to the senator’s statement, the campaign group Veterans for Responsible Leadership said, “Let’s hope he sues the s— out of you.”
Paul Rieckhoff, a veterans’ rights activist and podcaster, said: “This may be very, very ugly. And no U.S. senator wants to inject himself into this scenario. For the protection of everybody — including himself.
