Just in time for Halloween, HBO is increasing the universe of “It.”

A new prequel collection, “It: Welcome to Derry,” premieres tonight, Oct. 22, on HBO and the HBO Max streaming service.

“It: Welcome to Derry” comes from three of the people behind the 2017 “It” movie and its 2019 sequel “It: Chapter Two” — director Andy Muschietti (who directs the first 4 episodes of the new collection), producer Barbara Muschietti, and co-producer Jason Fuchs.
