Over a yr after Season 2 wrapped up, Apple TV’s hit dramedy “Shrinking” returns for Season 3 tonight.

Created by Bill Lawrence, Brett Goldstein (“Ted Lasso”) and Jason Segel, “Shrinking” follows Jimmy (Segel), a therapist drowning in his own grief after his spouse’s death, as he begins to drastically increase his involvement in his sufferers’ lives by telling them precisely what he thinks.

The new season picks up in the aftermath of the Season 2 finale, in which Jimmy shares an emotional second with Louis (Goldstein), the drunk driver who killed his spouse in a crash.

If Season 1 explored grief and Season 2 was all about forgiveness, that finale second completely units up Season 3’s central theme: transferring ahead.

Season 3 is also set to characteristic Michael J. Fox after a five-year hiatus from performing. Fox will play a Parkinson’s affected person who befriends Paul (Harrison Ford, who was Emmy-nominated for his work in Season 2), as Paul’s battle with the neurodegenerative disease continues to progress.
