California’s newest In-N-Out is formally serving up Double-Doubles, and contemporary pictures show burger followers are losing no time christening the drive-thru.
The newly minted outpost anchors The Canopy, a 12-acre, 90,000-square-foot out of doors purchasing and eating hub taking form at Irvine’s large $1 billion Great Park. Clocking in at roughly 1,300 acres, the sprawling mega project dwarfs Manhattan’s 843-acre Central Park.

The iconic crimson and white burger spot was buzzing with exercise, with staffers in crisp white uniforms, crimson aprons and paper hats slinging wrapped burgers, and packing iconic crimson trays with fresh-cut fries for the first wave of hungry prospects. The 3,808-square-feet indoor eating room’s 84 seats have been rapidly claimed, where moms snapped photos of youngsters perched on crimson swivel stools and teenagers took selfie’s having fun with that very first chunk of a burger.
Employees have been hustling between automobiles, taking orders as automobiles lined up at the drive-thru lane, which was designed to accommodate 33 autos. Outside, sun-soaked diners tore into their food on the 500-square-foot patio.
Operating hours will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 1:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday — giving late-night burger followers a lot of time to get their Animal Style repair.
The burger mecca shall be just one of the many big names headed to The Canopy, including Philz Coffee, The Taco Stand, H&H Bagels, SHOOTZ and Canadian Asian grocery giant T&T Supermarket, among others.
The Great Park also contains a gigantic new leisure and recreation zone that includes two lakes with a number of cascading waterfalls, a Great Meadow, strolling trails and even a farm.

Plans also call for a 10,000-seat amphitheater, called The Amp, and a 194-acre athletics hub packed with soccer fields, baseball and softball diamonds, volleyball courts and one of the area’s greatest soccer stadiums.
Hundreds of acres of the Great Park in Irvine are already in operation, but a lot of the park stays under construction with major, phased developments persevering with through 2028 and 2029. Storymaps.arcgis.com
Elsewhere, builders are building what is being called the “Cultural Terrace,” a large arts and museum district that will embody the Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum, the Asian American History Museum, a Pretend City Children’s Museum and other exhibit areas housed partially in restored navy hangars.
The park’s northern part will function a sprawling botanical garden with trails, dry creeks, maze gardens, arboretums and themed areas. A Veterans Memorial park and Garden is also deliberate, preserving parts of the previous navy tarmac as a 1,100-foot-long “Walk of Honor” devoted to Orange County veterans.
