Israel Adesanya weighs in on UFC 320 main event | MMA News
A light-weight heavyweight championship rematch headlines the UFC 320 struggle card on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Champion Magomed Ankalaev takes on former titleholder Alex Pereira in the pay-per-view’s featured struggle.
The two first fought at UFC 313 in March. Ankalaev defeated Pereira via unanimous resolution and captured the 205-pound championship. Pereira had efficiently defended the title thrice before going through Ankalaev.
Every struggle is different and former two-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya believes there will probably be a different consequence in the rematch. Plus, he believes Pereira was injured when he fought Ankalaev in March.
“I think Alex will be more prepared for this fight, more motivated. He hasn’t lost at light heavyweight and had that fire where he was like, ‘F**k man, I’ve got to get this back.’ There’s something different when you want to get back,” Adesanya said on his YouTube channel.
Their first struggle wasn’t a blowout by any means. Ankalaev linked with the cleaner pictures but was unable to take Pereira down. Pereira had success with leg kicks but wasn’t in a position to put the Russian in any hazard.
Adesanya believes, like in the first struggle, the rematch will go the space. Except this time he expects Pereira’s hand to be raised, but does not assume it is going to be an straightforward night time for the Brazilian.

“For this fight, I’m going to go Alex Pereira. I don’t know if he finishes Magomed because I’ve never seen Magomed finished. It’s not going to be an easy fight. It’s not going to be an easy fight based on the first fight,” said Adesanya.
“Alex will have to gain Magomed’s respect, heavily, straight away for it to be a finish,” he continued. “It’s easier said than done, but I think Alex can do it. I’m going to go ‘Poatan’ by UD (unanimous decision) in this fight.”
