ITV viewers could be dealt a large blow as Dancing On Ice could be coming to an finish after 19 years. The hit skating show could be going through the axe as viewing figures have plummeted from a peak of 12 million to a quarter of that, in line with studies. Show winner James Jordan, who lifted the trophy in 2019, stated it could be a “shame” if the ITV programme was to be shelved.
Speaking completely to Express.co.uk on behalf of Sky Vegas, he stated: “It would be a real shame for the dancers who live and breathe Dancing on Ice if the show ended. I’m a huge fan and have met some amazing people through it, so I’d be gutted for the pro skaters if it were to finish. The show doesn’t need to end – it just needs a refresh. This year, I saw moments of brilliance that could easily be the standard every week. I’m not easily impressed, but there were several times when I thought, ‘That was incredible.’”
The information comes after insiders say show bosses are set to make a choice this week on the long run of the skating programme.
It has been a mainstay because it launched in 2006 with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield as the hosts. However, the latter stood down from his function in 2023 and was changed by Stephen Mulhern.

Dancing On Ice first hit screens in 2006, however ended after its ninth run in 2014. It returned 4 years later.
