James Martin is reportedly getting married for the first time to his personal coach companion Kim Johnson. The Saturday Morning chef, 53, beforehand vowed to never stroll down the aisle. It has since been claimed the on-screen star has taken a enormous step in his relationship.

The ITV chef reportedly proposed to the 39-year-old after almost two years of courting. A source told The Sun: “Everyone has seen the change in him since meeting Kim and he’s never been happier.”

In an interview with Prima back in April 2020, he confessed that his dedication to work outweighed his want to take the “conventional” route after sharing marriage regrets.

“The biggest low of my career is that I’ve given up everything for it,” he confessed. “I look at my mates and they’re all married with kids, and that’s not the case for me because I’ve been so focused on work.”

“The level of commitment it requires and the choices you have to make have a huge impact,” he added.

“But would I do the same thing again? Probably, because it’s made me who I am. And why does everybody have to follow the norm anyway?”

He once declared: “Marriage doesn’t interest me in the slightest.”

But personal coach Kim, who he began courting in March 2024, is said to have made him “happier than ever”.

Meanwhile, James has splashed out a enormous £150,000 on a model new car for his girlfriend Kim.

While he tends to keep quiet about his personal life, Kim confirmed off her Christmas shock to mates on Instagram on Thursday and claimed she was “gobsmacked”.

Sharing a picture of her new Land Rover to her Story, she wrote: “James Martin I am speechless!!”
