Jimmy Fallon to air rerun on night of Stephen | TV Shows

Jimmy Fallon is standing in solidarity with Jimmy Kimmel as both late-night hosts have determined against airing new episodes on the same night as Stephen Colbert’s closing installment of The Late Show.

Stephen Colbert‘s concluding episode of his late-night program is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 21, following practically an 11-year tenure on tv. CBS canceled the show in July 2025, citing financial issues as the explanation.

As the date approaches, Fallon, 51, plans to broadcast a rerun that night in help of Stephen, 62, according to Variety. The SNL veteran is mirroring Kimmel’s choice to go darkish that night. This comes as Kimmel joked that he might be next in show cancellation.

“I will tell you, when I got knocked off the air for a few days, people canceled Disney+. Why aren’t people canceling Paramount+? Because you never had it in the first place?” Kimmel said.
