Jose Aldo: 'I don't think I have it in | MMA News

Former two-time featherweight champion Jose Aldo could have fought for the final time. The Brazilian eliminated his gloves and seemingly introduced his retirement on Saturday following his UFC 315 loss to Aiemann Zahabi.

“First of all, thank you to Dana [White], to Sean [Shelby], to Lorenzo Fertitta, to everybody for everything that you have given me,” Aldo stated immediately following Saturday’s combat at Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

“I don’t think I have it in me anymore,” continued Aldo. “This was a tough week. It wasn’t just about the cutting of the weight and everything else. I just felt there were so many things that happened to go through all of this.

“There was one level this week – this was a very powerful week – that I felt that I did not have it in me. I did not need to cut anymore (weight). My physique stated, no, and I just do not think I have it anymore. I don’t need to go into struggle all the time and go through this. I just do not have it in my coronary heart anymore. I think this is the final time you are going to see me. I cannot do this anymore.”
