Gillian Robertson calls for title shot following | MMA News

Rising ladies’s strawweight contender Gillian Robertson picked up the most important win of her profession last weekend defeating former title challenger Amanda Lemos via unanimous choice in the UFC Vegas 114 co-main event.

With the win, Robertson prolonged her successful streak to 5 consecutive fights. She hasn’t misplaced since June 2023 and believes she’s achieved enough to have earned a title shot.

Immediately after the win at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Robertson’s coach Din Thomas whispered in her ear to call for a title shot against champion Mackenzie Dern in her post-fight feedback. Robertson did just that.

“That’s five wins in a row. I’ve got the most finishes out of any women, the most submissions out of any woman. All I need is that belt to solidify myself,” she said during her Octagon Interview with Michael Bisping.

After calling for a championship bout, Robertson doubled-down on her need to compete for the undisputed title during the event’s post-fight press convention.

“I think it’s the only thing that makes sense,” Robertson said during the UFC Vegas 114 Post-Fight Press Conference. “Five wins in a row, most submissions, most finishes. I think I deserve that spot. The only thing that would really solidify me anymore is that belt.”
