Singer Jubilant Sykes has died at the age of 71 while at his home in Los Angeles. The Grammy-nominated singer was reportedly killed inside his Santa Monica home on Monday (November 8). The star’s son has been arrested in connection with his death, police have told KTLA. Police said officers have been called to Sykes’ home at roughly 9:20 pm after somebody inside dialed 911 to report an assault in progress. Sykes was reportedly pronounced useless at the scene.
Santa Monica Police Lt. Erika Aklufi said: “Officers arrived and contacted the reporting party, who directed them into the home where they located an adult male with significant injuries.”
Police also said: “The suspect, the victim’s son, Micah Sykes, 31, was found inside the residence and taken into custody without incident.”
