Milwaukee Judge Hannah Dugan is the genius who thought it will be a good thought to disguise an unlawful alien in her courthouse and help him escape through a aspect door when ICE brokers got here to nab him. It turned out to be a spectacularly dangerous plan as first the Wisconsin Supreme Court suspended her in late April, and then on Tuesday, a federal grand jury indicted her on two fees. She’s dealing with up to six years in prison and a most high quality of $350,000.

Now the choose is arguing for the case to be tossed out, and her primary argument is that she is above the law:

“The problems with this prosecution are legion, but most immediately, the government cannot prosecute Judge Dugan because she is entitled to judicial immunity for her official acts,” her attorneys argued in the movement.

Ah, the previous “judicial immunity” argument. (Actually, it’s not previous to me; I’ve never had the trigger to write about it.) Now, I’m not a lawyer, but it’s arduous for me to see how breaking the law is an “official act.” I’ll let precise attorneys convey the evaluation, though, and as Townhall columnist and “Inside the Law” host Phil Holloway writes, “[it] is not an official judicial act. Who wants to tell her?”

Georgetown University Law School professor and frequent pundit on all issues legal Jonathan Turley was also much less than impressed:

You can definitely disagree with her motivations, but that’s not one thing that a choose can just assume without a trial. So my assumption is that the movement to dismiss in the present day shall be certainly turned down by the court.

This woke choose was caught red-handed and is now in a world of damage of her own making. Or at least, that’s the way in which it needs to be—but as we’ve seen across the nation in current months, activist judges have gone to staggering lengths to bend the law in methods that match their ideologies. It’s definitely potential that in the swing state of Wisconsin, some extremist choose would possibly go to any lengths to justify throwing it out.

In reality, Dugan’s case has been assigned to U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman, and some pundits usually are not impressed with the 85-year-old Clinton appointee.

It could be good to see some precise justice in this case; we’ll just have to wait and see. Unfortunately, there’s also the possibility that Dugan with her magical “judicial immunity” might get off scot-free—as ludicrous as that could be.
