Luke Donald and Keegan Bradley’s mutual respect for each other might lack the needle and rivalry some followers crave at a Ryder Cup, but it has to be revered.

The two golfers are good pals on and off the course and, even though their relationship will probably be put to the check over the next week, the pair have agreed to share a drink on Sunday night time no matter the outcome. Speaking forward of Friday’s showdown, Donald gave an insight into his friendship with Bradley.

“I’ve known Keegan 12, 13 years now,” the Team Europe captain said. “We sometimes play practice rounds together on the road, we’ve had dinners together, we have mutual friends. It comes as Bradley’s massive Ryder Cup decision still weighs on the Team USA captain.

“Again, Keegan is somebody that I’ve rooted for. If he did effectively in a event, gained a event, I’d textual content him. And likewise, I believe we positively have a good strong friendship, and I believe there’s a mutual respect there.”

“But in the end, we have chatted. I needed to be the first one to inform Luke that I’m the Ryder Cup captain right here, out of respect to him, because we have talked a lot about the Ryder Cup throughout our lives.

“I really feel lucky to have Luke on the opposite side. Because we send each other texts, we joke around, but we know once the competition comes, we want to win. Like Luke said, come Sunday night, I can’t wait to have a drink with Luke Donald and sit down and try to enjoy this even more.”
