Broadchurch followers in shock as Alec reveals they discovered DNA
David Tennant is set to return to screens in a gripping drama based on a true story, but in the meantime, another of his crime thrillers is free to watch on ITVX.
The Hack reveals the story of the 2011 cellphone hacking scandal at the News of the World newspaper.
Alongside Toby Jones, Eve Myles, and Adrian Lester, Doctor Who actor David performs investigative journalist Nick Davies, who uncovered evidence of one of the most important and notorious invasions of privateness in the UK.
More than a decade earlier, David performed Detective Inspector Alec Hardy in Broadchurch, for three seasons between 2013 and 2017.
He starred alongside Olivia Colman as Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller, Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Jonathan Bailey, and Arthur Darvill.

The crime drama adopted different instances in each season, with the first targeted on the death of an 11-year-old boy and the influence it had on the local city.
The second adopted his killer being introduced to justice and a historic case coming back to hang-out DI Hardy, while the third and closing series targeted on the harrowing rape of a local girl.
The series gained over followers with hovering Rotten Tomatoes scores and a enormous quantity of award nominations.
The third season beat Sherlock and Line of Duty for best Crime Drama at the National Television Awards in 2018, while the first season was nominated for seven Baftas.

The DI Alec Hardy star said it was “sad” to see the show coming to an end, and discovered it a “friendly, comfortable place” to work in.
“What will be sad is that we’ll never go back to it,” he told Radio Times.
“It’s always been there as a type of pleasant, snug place that we’ll return to. But now that does not exist anymore, it does really feel like a loss.”

He added that filming the scenes alongside The Crown’s Olivia Coleman made him the “happiest” he had ever felt on set.
The Scottish actor added: “It’s ludicrous for us to discuss about how arduous it’s or how tough our life is pretending to be police officers investigating a fake inappropriate assault.
“You do not take it any less significantly, but I can go home at the end of the day and not be somebody who’s dwelling that.”
