US captain Keegan Bradley has stood by his players receiving cost at the Ryder Cup for the first time — and insisted donating his $200,000 to charity stays a “personal decision”.

The PGA of America voted last 12 months to present the 12 players and captain with $300,000 each for charitable donations plus a $200,000 stipend.

Bradley immediately announced he would donate all his money to charity, though no unified staff coverage exists.

European players will once again compete without compensation, and captain Luke Donald has instructed the home crowd may flip against their own staff over the money issue, with tickets priced at $750.

However, Bradley explained: “The PGA of America came to me, they wanted to bring the Ryder Cup into the present day. The charity dollars hadn’t changed since 1999 and they asked me to sort of shepherd their way into making it into 2025.”

“I think for everyone it’s a personal decision. A lot of guys aren’t comfortable sharing what they’re going to do with their money, but we’re going to donate.”

Patrick Cantlay, who strongly denied refusing to put on a hat in Rome as a protest over lack of cost, sported a Team USA cap during yesterday’s observe.

Bradley, who captured the 2011 US PGA, has earned over $56 million on the PGA Tour.

“These guys on our staff are unimaginable people, and they do a lot of unimaginable issues with charity {dollars} and with their foundations. Lots of them aren’t comfy sharing that type of data, and I really feel the same manner.

“I’m not concerned about what Europe does or what they think. I’m concerned about what my team is doing. I think the players are going to do a lot of good with this money, and I think it’s great. I think that the players are really good people and are going to do a lot of good things.”
