Keir Starmer humiliated live on GB News in fresh blow | UK News

Sir Keir Starmer suffered yet another embarrassing blow live on GB News after stumbling and almost falling while assembly with officers at the G20 climate summit. The Labour prime minister took a tumble before a group of representatives before catching himself and going on to offer greetings in Johannesburg, South Africa.

However, on GB News, anchor Tom Harwood quizzed The Times’ Washington editor Katy Balls on the scenario – and she uncovered Starmer’s big mistake. She said: “I think that it’s almost Room 101. The reason you shouldn’t even bother to ask is I don’t think any journalist is going to go along with it, and then you’re just drawing more attention to the situation.

“It makes it look as though you’ve had a sense of humour failure, you’re being a bit precious about it. Whereas actually, with these kind of gaffes, it’s often better if the leader just laughs along with it and tries to make a joke out of it.

“Obviously the problem is it always fits in with the mood around politics at the time, and because Keir Starmer’s doing so badly in the polls, a stumble…

“I’m sure the aide was thinking, ‘I can see the headlines now, he’s on a downer’.”

Viewers have been busy reacting to the now viral second Starmer nearly took a tumble, with one writing on Instagram: “Would pay good money to have seen that!”

Another echoed: “Terrible omen. For him. Great for everyone else!”

“It was the previous government’s fault!” anyone else joked.
