Singer Kelly Clarkson has apologized to her followers for canceling the first few reveals in her new Las Vegas residency last-minute.

The 43-year-old American Idol alum was due to begin her Studio Sessions: The Las Vegas Residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace on July 4. However, she introduced the cancellations of reveals that day and one on July 5 in an Instagram message to followers, writing that the exhausting rehearsals had taken “a toll” on her voice and that she had to “protect” herself.

While the Since U Been Gone hitmaker didn’t share when the postponed dates can be rescheduled at the time, the 18-day residency kicked off on July 11 and will proceed until August 16, despite Clarkson having tarnished some of her followers’ trust and even“blindsided” her crew.

The singer addressed her latest cancellations as she returned to the stage on Friday evening, according to a clip shared to TikTok.

She advised the gang, “It took us a minute. I’m so sorry. I know some of y’all had tickets for last weekend’s shows. We can’t help our bodies sometimes. You know,w we get sick, and that happens.”

She added, “This is my favorite residency, my favorite show we’ve ever put together, because I love being in the studio, and that’s where this whole idea came from.”

In her initial cancellation announcement, just minutes before she was scheduled to take the stage final Friday, Clarkson wrote, “We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans.

“I’m past grateful that you all the time show up for me, and I’m devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars.”

She added, “The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice. I need the reveals to be excellent for y’all and I need to shield myself from doing severe harm so I’m taking this weekend and next week to relaxation up so that we are able to ship what you all deserve.

“The show is truly incredible. The musicians and singers are outstanding, and I want us all to start out strong.”

Clarkson concluded her message by writing, “I can’t wait to be back next weekend and show y’all what we’ve been working on.”

While many of her followers had been understanding and agreed that her health was more important, others expressed their disappointment over the last-minute cancellation.

While talking to Page Six, an insider opened up about the struggles Clarkson was going through behind the scenes.

They revealed, “She belts out every single be aware. She’s an extremely highly effective singer, but it takes its toll on her vocal cords and she’s come extremely close to needing surgical procedure before. She can not risk damaging her cords additional – she’s on skinny ice.”

Meanwhile, Clarkson’s team was reportedly “blindsided” by her sudden decision to axe the shows. 

“Everyone working behind the scenes was in full shock,” an insider revealed to The US Sun on Tuesday, adding that they were kept “utterly in the darkish.”

“They woke up Friday anticipating a regular day of work and started their day like all the time. It wasn’t until hours into the work day that everybody was advised the information,” they continued.

The source further claimed that many crew members found out about the cancellation through social media, which they deemed “totally disrespectful.”

They added, “It’s disrespectful to do that to so many people who labored their a– off for your show. She’s positively misplaced the respect and confidence of a lot of her employees.”

The source revealed that “so many followers” were eagerly lined up outside the Colosseum at Caesars Palace when the pop star abruptly canceled her performance just 10 minutes before doors were set to open.

Despite the initial disappointment, the shows continued on Friday and Saturday, and the crew “has been exhibiting up every day to do their job and put on a good show,” according to the source.

The Express US beforehand approached Clarkson’s representatives for remark in regards to these statements.
