Ken Paxton Opens General Election Campaign With a | Political News

Though I discover it fairly amusing that there are numerous “political experts” on the market among the Commentariat™ who are now suggesting that the seat at present held by the departing Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) may be flippable, I’m not yet prepared to declare any race a “sure thing” a method or the other, contemplating the current political climate, where stuff you once thought would never occur have really occurred.

It’s onerous not to, though, when one considers the goldmine of materials Texas Democrat Senate nominee James Talarico has put on the market over the years for Trump-backed Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the newly minted GOP Senate nominee, to exploit.

RedState has extensively reported on it, with my colleague Jennifer Oliver O’Connell pointing to the Texas state consultant’s weird claims about how “God is non-binary, whiteness and masculinity are problems to be reckoned with, there are at least six genders,” and “the American flag is a problematic symbol” being among the more notable.

Low-T Talarico Really Wants You to Know He Likes Meat (And Makes Buttigieg Look Normal by Comparison)

With the overall election marketing campaign season now formally underway, Talarico is attempting to run away from his past, admittedly “cringey comments,” as RedState beforehand reported. He’s proclaiming that “There are some statements that I’ve made that I certainly regret,” but has alleged that Paxton “is deliberately clipping” issues he is said, implying in the method that he was being taken out of context in some situations.

Anyone in Paxton’s sneakers can be “intentionally clipping” Talarico’s past statements, too, because, as famous earlier, there’s a treasure trove to use against him that is nearly never-ending.

Paxton and his marketing campaign group are, of course, properly conscious of this, which is why they’ve come out of his decisive Tuesday major runoff victory against Cornyn swinging against Talarico, giving a mere preview of what’s to come. “This is Texas. This is not” they repeat throughout, while exhibiting what makes Texas great (its hard-working people) and what does not (Talarico):

While it is a tried and true marketing campaign tactic to paint your opponent as an out-of-touch radical, Talarico makes it manner too straightforward, and you possibly can anticipate Paxton to lean into the “radical” label onerous because, properly, it is true.

In response to this, for instance:

Paxton responded with this:

That’s going to depart a mark in a crimson state like Texas. I am unable to wait to see what’s next.

Editor’s Note: The 2026 Midterms will decide the destiny of President Trump’s America First agenda. Republicans must keep control of both chambers of Congress.
