Key differences between Covid 19 and Hantavirus as pandemic fears soar…

The latest lethal outbreak of Hantavirus has felt like a major déjà vu second for many people, recalling the first stories of COVID-19.

“That’s what we saw in Wuhan where after several generations of local spread, there was an obvious signal in the emergency department and hospitals became overwhelmed. That’s not happening here. The virus needed the confined areas of the cruise ship in order to spread.”

However, Dr. Greninger famous that the best method to keep away from contracting hantavirus is analogous to the method taken during the pandemic.

“I think the same respiratory hygiene that works for other respiratory viruses,” he said. “The main way its spread is through airborne transmission. So it’s really about the distance you have between the people and how close you are to others when someone has a high level of virus in their lungs.”

“We have less experience with KF94/N95 masks for hantavirus, but they work for every other respiratory virus, so there’s no reason to expect they will not work here. Distance and masking will make the biggest impact here.”

On social media, panic is shortly spreading due to fearmongering, but specialists have suggested that the extent of hysteria is pointless for the final public. The World Health Organization has confirmed that the risk to the final public is low.
