NBC anchor Kristen Welker has challenged Utah Governor Spencer Cox over President Trump’s feedback about “radicals on the left”.
This confrontation comes in the wake of Charlie Kirk’s death, where he was shot at a scholar rally in Utah. A person named Tyler Robinson has been apprehended in connection with the capturing, and investigators have reported discovering anti-fascist messages inscribed on the bullets used by the alleged assassin.
In response to Charlie’s death, President Trump appeared on Fox and Friends on Friday, labeling left-wing radicals as “the issue. This comes after Charlie Kirk haunting post predicted death from gunshot 11 years before.
“The radicals on the correct oftentimes are radical because they do not need to see crime,” Trump stated. “They don’t desire to see crime, they’re saying, ‘We don’t desire these people coming in. We don’t desire you burning our procuring facilities. We don’t desire you capturing our people in the center of the road.'”.
“The radicals on the left are the issue, and they’re vicious and they’re horrible and they’re politically savvy.”, reports the Irish Star.
On her show, Meet the Press, Kristen aired a clip of this and asked Governor Cox for his opinion on the issue. However, the politician seemed to downplay the President’s remarks.
“Well, look, I’ve talked to President Trump,” Cox responded. “President Trump is indignant, and he has every proper to be indignant. So much of Americans are very indignant proper now, and there clearly was a leftist ideology with this murderer.
“And so I totally understand that anger. I also wish you would have played the clip where he quoted Charlie Kirk about the importance of nonviolence because he said that, too.”
Cox additional revealed that he was requested by the White House to seem on the Sunday reveals at Utah Valley University, where Charlie Kirk tragically misplaced his life.
“The reason I’m doing these morning shows – I don’t do much national press anymore -the White House asked us to come on and to talk about this, because they’re worried about the escalation that’s happening out there.
“But again, I do not know why we really feel like we need to take our cues that we as Americans have to get up in the morning and determine how we’re going to react or act based on what the president says, or what a governor says, or what anybody else says.”
