“The Conjuring: Last Rites” was in the No. 1 spot in the box office Friday, raking in $34.5 million on its opening day, according to The Numbers. 

The supernatural horror is the ninth in the “Conjuring” sequence, loosely based on a true story of a household who moved into a Rhode Island and noticed apparitions, heard noises and smelled rotten odors.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprise their roles as paranormal investigators in the flick, which the New York Times called, “a disappointing send-off; more an eccentric family drama than a real chiller.”

It is predicted to take in as a lot as $75 million this weekend, according to Deadline.

In the second spot was “Hamilton,” which got here to theaters Friday after being launched on Disney+ in 2020.

The filmed model of the Tony-winning Broadway musical might get pleasure from earnings of up to $10 million this weekend.

Remaining in third place was “Weapons,” with $1.5 million in gross sales on its fifth Friday in theaters.

“Freakier Friday” moved up a notch to fourth, with a $960,000 take.

“Caught Stealing,” which was No. 1 last Friday, flew all the way in which down to fifth, with $940,000 in income.
