Lawmaker told to resign after saying Charlie Kirk | Political News

A left-wing British lawmaker is dealing with calls to resign after she accused Charlie kirk of making himself a “target” in his assassination.

Councilwoman Fiona Wild, who left the Labour Party in August to serve as an unbiased, appeared to blame Kirk, a outstanding, controversial conservative provocateur, for his brutal assassination on Wednesday while internet hosting a debate at Utah Valley University.

“I don’t condone violence but I do think [Kirk] made himself a target and brought this upon himself so good riddance to a not very nice man!” she wrote on Facebook.

She chillingly added, “America needs to get rid of the other tit now.” It is unclear who precisely she is referring to in the comment, though many speculate that she is speaking about U.S. President Donald Trump, whom Kirk long supported.

Local Conservative chief Jamie McGowen immediately condemned Wild’s feedback, calling them “vile.”

“I think this is what Cllr Fiona Wild forgets is that two small children have woken up without their daddy this morning,” Councilor McGowen fired back. “Because of nothing more than his political beliefs.”

“It’s such a disgusting thing to say which shows a nasty side I didn’t know she had,” McGowen said in a stinging comment aimed at Wild. “She needs to reflect on her vile comment and resign from the council.”

A grievance has been filed with Burnley Borough Council, which can now be requested to decide whether or not the social media post violates the code of conduct.

Last night time, the Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy also discovered himself under fire following Kirk’s ruthless homicide after earlier remarks he made about Kirk had been resurfaced.

Turning Point UK, the British arm of the group based by Kirk, shared remarks from Lammy, in which he characterised Turning Point UK as proof that “sinister forces are taking hold of our country.”

The group lambasted British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who expressed condolences following his death.

“The language your party and the wider left uses to describe people like Charlie and us is the reason why we face this violence,” the right-wing group affiliated with Kirk wrote. “Shame on you.”

A spokesperson for the British prime minister addressed his earlier remarks by underscoring the significance of free speech and debate while condoning political violence.

“We must all be free to debate openly, freely and without fear,” Starmer’s spokesperson said. “There can be no justification for political violence. The right to free speech in the U.K. is longstanding, and we can all be very proud of that. We will always defend it.”

Kirk was fatally shot in the neck in Utah last night time while partaking with school college students on a college campus. He leaves behind a spouse and two youngsters.

“My thoughts this evening are with the loved ones of Charlie Kirk,” Prime Minister Starmer said. “It is heartbreaking that a young family has been robbed of a father and a husband.”
