The LIV Golf workforce championship finale in Michigan faces growing uncertainty after journey preparations have reportedly been scrapped.

According to Flushing It on social media, event contractors have had their journey and lodging reservations canceled for the Michigan finale, with LIV Golf probably dealing with closure as the PIF plans to discontinue funding after the 2026 season. Players have reportedly been exploring exit choices irrespective of the league’s destiny.

Martin Kaymer indicated this week he anticipates the season-ending workforce championship can be scrapped, with CEO Scott O’Neil alerting workers to doable job cuts in the approaching period.

Kaymer participated in the captains’ assembly at LIV Golf UK after the tour’s seven-week break. The assembly passed off following the Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, where circuit opponents like Lucas Herbert and Bryson DeChambeau participated.

“And sadly, even Scott, he cannot inform us because he does not know. It relies upon so a lot on the traders. Hopefully, I feel there’s a lot of curiosity and it is trying good. But we have all been there. If the signature is just not there, then it doesn’t suggest something.”

Jon Rahm declined to discuss his future with the circuit, while DeChambeau has remained largely quiet following a contentious two-stroke penalty at the Open Championship that caused him to drop down the leaderboard and draw sharp criticism from World No. 2 Rory McIlroy.

“I’m not going to share something that I am unable to share with you guys proper now,” said Rahm when questioned about whether he expects to compete on LIV Golf in 2027.

“I’m always optimistic. I play a sport for a dwelling,” added Rahm. “I am unable to actually be too upset about how issues are going in life.

“Even though I’m very frustrated on the course very often, off the course I’m very different to what a lot of people think.”
